I was born and raised in the lush, unspoiled beauty of the tropical
island of St. Lucia, where nature was not just our backdrop, but our way of
life.  We used plants for basically everything, from medicinal purposes to shampoos to skin care. Skincare wasn’t something we bought; it came directly from the earth. We used tropical flowers, plant oils, and herbs to soothe, nourish, and heal our skin. I learned from an early age about the power of nature in healing and nourishing the skin. These experiences laid the foundation for a lifelong respect for the power of natural ingredients.

Now, at the age of 70, with over 35 years of experience as a physician specializing in pathology, I’ve decided to share my knowledge of my early roots to create a skincare line that reflects both my medical understanding of how the skin works and my island tradition.

As a pathologist, I’ve spent my career studying the body — and one truth has remained constant- the skin is not just a surface. It’s the largest organ of the body, and it deserves just as much care and protection as the heart, lungs, or brain. Every day, our skin is exposed to environmental toxins, bacteria (some beneficial) fungi, and inflammation, made worse by artificial ingredients in many conventional products that destroy its protective barrier.

As an all-season runner, I’ve relied for years on the ingredients found in Anse La Ray Body Butter to keep my skin hydrated, nourished, and resilient in all weather conditions — from sun to wind to the long bitter cold in Rochester. What began as my own personal skincare remedy soon became something I shared with friends and family. Their glowing feedback — and their persistent encouragement — is what inspired me to finally bring this product to market.

That’s why I created Anse La Ray Body Butter, (named after a coastal town in St. Lucia). It is a luxurious, all-natural formula deeply inspired by my childhood and grounded in decades of traditional and medical knowledge.
